AP Courses
Honor Programs/Classes and advanced placement (AP) Courses:
Students who have demonstrated high academic achievements will be able to enroll in honors programs/courses and Advanced Placement courses. The requirements for admissions into these special programs/classes will include academic and conduct grades and teacher recommendations. To enroll in an Honors Program/Class or AP class, a student should have a B+ (87 and above) in the previous course and a G (Good) in conduct for the previous grading period. Grades in Honors classes and AP courses will be weighted. A 0.5 point will be given in Honors programs/courses and a 1.00 point will be given to A.P. courses. Grades in the D range will not receive this extra weight.
Students enrolled in AP courses are expected to take the AP exams in May and are expected to pay for those exams at the beginning of the year.
